My Pages...

Hi to one and all.  This is a main index for all of my online creations.  I started out by making one page as a class assignment.  Now,  it seems, that one seed has blossomed into many pages,  and there doesn't  seem  to be an end in sight.   I am a mom who went back to school to renew my Indiana Teacher's license now that my girls are grown.  I am currently enrolled at Indiana University NW Campus where I am finishing up an Educational Computer Endorsement.  The Internet has added a new dimension to teaching, making  learning to integrate computer technology into the classroom  both fun and challenging.     I look forward to having a class of my own soon.  I am licensed to teach history, government, geography, and sociology.  I have taught a class in Computer Literacy at our local Adult Education Center.  The class is an introduction to Microsoft Office '97.  I was also an 8th grade US History teacher for the School City of Hobart after I graduated from college and before my children were born.

I am  currently a substitute teacher at the area schools.   And now that my family is grown,   I am looking forward to returning to the classroom.  The Web site I created called Class Notes was a graduate class assignment,  and is one I would like to use as a teacher in my own classroom. I think is it important for students to know how to use a computer, and how to utilize the Internet for research.  The Internet is quickly becoming the largest primary source of information in the world.  Knowing how to utilize the Internet's vast resources is important for both teacher and student.  I also think using the Internet as a teaching tool adds a new dimension to the subject matter.
