This page contains links to news articles.   I will list extra credit questions for the students to answer.   We will discuss the articles briefly in class so even those students who didn't do the extra credit will have an idea what the article was about.  Current Event discussion days will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Students are also encouraged to bring in current events on the local scene.  It is important for the students to be aware of community and area news.  I have also included links on this page to our  local newspapers.
Classroom Current Events can be viewed online by using the link below.  Students will also be able to view all pertinent dates for assignments and class activities in class on the large wall calendar in my room.   There is NO excuse for not knowing assignment due dates.  I am flexible about due dates if a student has a reasonable excuse for not completing an assignment on time.  All the student has to do is come in and talk to me.

This page is under construction.  (A fancy web-term for I still have more work to do on it!!)  I would like to incorporate and interactive form for students to complete online after they read an online article.  I would like the response emailed to me.  As soon as I master the HTML code and cgi scrip language to make this online feat possible,  I will add it to this page.  Until then,  we will use good old pencil and paper for the answers.  Please keep these papers in your journal under the heading "Current Events".  REMEMBER TO USE THE BACK BUTTON TO RETURN TO THIS SITE AFTER READING THE NEWS ARTICLE.    Good Reading to you!!
