Students will be allowed to obtain and Internet address from Yahoo ONLY with parental consent.  Email will ONLY be used for sending and recieving research related messages.  ALL EMAIL MUST BE APPROVED BY ME OR THE COMPUTER LAB MONITOR.  Students are NOT allowed to enter chat rooms for ANY reason!!  There are NO exceptions to these or any other rules applying to Internet use.  Students will also be required to sign the school's USENET policy.
 
 
 
Follow Commonsense Guidelines While Online 
 
  • Never give out personal information.  Alert your teacher to anything of a suspicious nature.
  • Don’t copy, cut, plagiarize Internet content.  Always cite your source.
  • Treat other online users as you would like to be treated.
  • Keep your password a secret.
  • Know where you are in cyberspace and follow the site rules.
  • Share your net expertise with others!!
  • Keep the computer area clean and free of food and drink. 
  • Never use a computer to harm others or snoop around their files.
  • Never use a computer to steal or destroy.
  • Be cool and courteous.  No bad language and no unbecoming conduct.

  • Using capital letters in communicating on the Internet is considered “shouting”.
