What is a "Virtual Tour"?  It's a trip to the Smithsonian Institute without having to pay admission.  It is a guided tour of France,  without the cost of and international airline ticket.  It is a trip through history experiencing the sights and sounds that once inhabited this earth.  It is all of these things and without ever leaving home.  How you ask?   The journey begins by turning on a computer and learning to navigate a browser through the World Wide Web.

The World Wide Web (Web or WWW for short) is the huge multimedia document of the Internet with pages stored on computers all over the world.  These pages contain text, graphics, animated clips, audio and video clips, and just about anything else you can imagine.  Using a special probram called a Web browser,  you can open and navigate these Web pages.

I have included numerous links on this page to help my students get started on the Internet explorations.  The sites are all educational in content and will link parent or student to some very interesting sites.  For further Web explorations,  I recomend linking to my computer page to use one of the search engine hyperlinks.  You may want to read the brief summary of what a search engine is before you begin.  Enjoy your journey.  The information you will find at your fingertips is mind-boggling.

All passenger will leave for their desired destination by clicking on the on the hyperlinks below.  They are your boarding passes for your virtual tour.  Your individual estimated time of arrival will depend upon modem speed and  Internet traffic.  Have a safe trip and remember the rules of "Netiquette" as you travel through cyberspace.  I hope you enjoy the trip!
